Software Licence

Please read the licence at the end of this document. Installation of Leonardo's Workshop on your computer constitutes acceptance of this licence.

Supported Platforms

This version of Leonardo's Workshop is designed to run on Mac OS 8.6, Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X. If you want to use the Leonardo Conduit, you will need HotSync Manager 3 or newer installed. This comes as part of Palm Desktop 4.

Mac OS X users can cheerfully ignore the following paragraph.

Leonardo's Workshop is a Carbon application, which means it requires CarbonLib on Mac OS 8.6 and Mac OS 9.x. A suitable version of CarbonLib is most likely already installed on your computer, however we recommend upgrading to CarbonLib 1.6, which can be downloaded free from Apple's Support Web Site.

Installation

Copy the Leonardo's Workshop application and Help folder to a handy place. The Help folder must be in the same folder as the Leonardo's Workshop application in order to access the Help from the menu when running Leonardo's Workshop.

To use the conduit, move the Leonardo Conduit file to your Conduits folder. On Mac OS X this is usually "Hard Disk:Library:Application Support:Palm HotSync:Conduits". On Mac OS 9 it is usually "Hard Disk:System Folder:Application Support:Palm HotSync:Conduits".

Uninstallation

Uninstallation consists simply of moving the Leonardo's Workshop application, help folder and Leonardo Conduit file to the Trash. Leonardo's Workshop saves a file called "Leonardos Workshop Prefs" in your Preferences folder. This file can be deleted too.

Known Issues

Text exported to DXF files may appear one line too high, depending on the program used to view the DXF.
Particularly large images (eg: the Leonardo image) may not export to JPEG or PNG format unless you choose to export them at a smaller resolution.
On OS X 10.3.2, the Preferences and Export dialogs don't immediately receive the input focus if the stash bar is visible.
It's possible to zoom and pan images in inactive windows.
Zoom in/out does not center the image on the point clicked.
Large images will open with the window scrolled to the top left hand corner, rather than the center.
Text rendering is poor at 1:1 for small and medium text.
Gradient fills are rendered as a solid colour.
The dots and dashes in diagonal styled lines may not be on the exact same angle as the line itself.
